In short, Michael Hingson is a survivor and a living inspiration. On September 11, 2001 Michael’s guide dog Roselle guided him down 78 flights of stairs, through dust and rubble and out of tragedy. Since escaping catastrophe, Michael has written and published a book on his experience during 9/11, is a social advocate through the National Federation of the Blind, and launched “Roselle’s Dream Foundation” after the passing of his guide dog with the mission of helping the visually impaired obtain new assistive technologies.
Michael has been blind his whole life, but has never let it slow him down. He has pushed past his disability, earning two degrees and enjoying a long and successful sales career along with spending time as an advocate and motivational speaker.
